Overview of the Project

At Holy Trinity By The Lake in Heath, Texas, we undertook a transformative outdoor garden patio project, incorporating expert craftsmanship, durable materials, and innovative lighting solutions. Our goal was to bring a 2D garden rendering to life, creating a serene and functional outdoor space that enhances the church’s landscape and provides a peaceful setting for reflection and community gatherings.

Project Scope and Challenges

The initial design featured three distinct areas, seamlessly connected by new walkways leading to a central garden patio. However, upon reviewing the terrain, adjustments were necessary to accommodate ground elevation changes. These modifications required additional retaining walls and concrete piers to support the soil and water load effectively. Our team meticulously analyzed the structural requirements and implemented solutions to ensure the long-term stability and usability of the space.

Construction Process

Phase 1: Concrete Work

• Site Preparation & Excavation: Before any construction began, we carefully excavated the designated areas to ensure a solid foundation and proper drainage.

• Retaining Walls & Structural Support: The first step involved constructing sturdy retaining walls to secure the garden’s foundation, preventing erosion and soil displacement.

• Concrete Pouring: We efficiently poured the walkways and the expansive 35’ x 50’ main patio area. Despite unpredictable weather conditions, our team completed the concrete work in under two weeks, ensuring a smooth and durable surface for visitors to enjoy.

• Curing Process: Allowing sufficient time for the concrete to cure, we ensured long-term durability and stability, preventing cracking and structural issues.

 

Phase 2: Masonry & Stonework

• Austin Stone Masonry: The project incorporated expertly crafted Austin stone, known for its durability and timeless aesthetic, enhancing the natural beauty of the outdoor space.

• Custom-Fabricated Capstones: To guarantee a perfect fit, we fabricated the capstones on-site, ensuring seamless integration with the stone walls and walkways.

• Columbarium Enhancements: Additional stone and cap installations will be added to the columbarium, further enhancing the sacred space for remembrance and reflection.

Phase 3: Lighting & Finishing Touches

• Under-Mount LED Lighting: Integrated LED lights with photocell automation were installed to provide elegant, energy-efficient illumination, enhancing both aesthetics and security.

• Landscaping & Final Completion: Once the additional columbarium cabinets are installed, we will complete the masonry and landscaping elements, incorporating greenery and decorative elements that complement the serene environment.
